1948 GMC Silverside Bus RV conversion

This bus started life in 1948 as a Greyhound passenger bus. In 1956 it was converted to a Motorhome Most recently a complete restoration was finished in 2023.
The drivetrain and suspension underwent the following:
- The Detroit 671 diesel pusher was rebuilt
- Alison automatic transmission was install
- Air ride rear axle and suspension was install
- Air brakes gone through
- Added electric Power steering system
- Generator converted to 24 volt Alternator
- All new wiring required to run motorhome
- New Inverter, generator, control panels front and rear.
- Shore power water and sewage all new
- LED interior and exterior lighting throughout
Interior features include:
-Air ride driver seat
- 360 camera system
- Air horns
- 4 person baget that converts to bed
- 4 person jack knife sofa/ bed
- 4 person sleeper sofa
- Shades throughout
- Galley kitchen
- Bathroom with shower
- 2 TV and audio system
- All the window glass was replaced with dual pain
- Upgraded to electric windshield wipers
Exterior features include:
- Lighting under each luggage compartment
- Electric awning
- TV, Gas grill, camping tables and chairs
- Outside air and water hook ups
- Exterior painted and polished than ceramiccoated
- Roof received 3 coats of water proof sealer
This complete restoration project took 8 plus years to complete. Once the drivetrain was updated work on the interior started.
