This 1969 Airstream Ambassador is a 29′ travel trailer that underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2022. Work included refinishing the chassis, polishing the aluminum body panels, replacing the awnings, stabilizers, axles, brakes, belly pan, and tires, and installing new wiring and plumbing throughout, including PEX pipes, a 50-amp electrical service, and 12-volt and 100-volt sub panels. The body was removed from the chassis during the project, and the windows were removed and cleaned, the exterior panels polished, and the trim replaced.
Inside, the trailer was stripped and re-insulated, then outfitted with woodgrain-style vinyl flooring and white walls. The layout includes a front lounge with brown leather cushions and a pull-out bed, a galley with butcher-block countertops, a sink, an induction cooktop, a convection/microwave oven, and a refrigerator, plus a wood-burning stove vented through the roof. A hallway sleeping area with a twin mattress and a rear bedroom with a queen mattress behind sliding doors provide the main sleeping spaces, and a built-in dog kennel sits below the main sleeping area, accessible from the hallway. The bathroom features a toilet, a sink with a butcher-block countertop, a sage green vanity, a towel warmer, and a tiled walk-in shower with a plexiglass separation wall. A heat pump and air conditioning unit, twin rooftop fans, a water heater, LED puck lighting, and a Bluetooth speaker round out the equipment.
