Description:

This 1997 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 312D was built into a Sailer 748 motorhome by Rimor in Austria when new. The vehicle is finished in white with multi-color graphics and powered by a 2.9-liter turbo diesel inline-five paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Inside, patterned cloth–trimmed ISRI front seats are accompanied by a fixed queen-size bed, a sleep-convertible dining area, a refrigerator and freezer, a three-burner stove and sink, wooden cabinets, and a dedicated bathroom and shower stall out back. Further amenities include a retractable awning with a removable tent attachment as well as a gas generator, a solar system, and roof-mounted air conditioning unit. Imported to the US in 2024, this Rimor Sailer 748 is now offered in California with a Nevada title in the seller’s name listing it as a 1998 model.

The motor home is painted white with brown lower fenders, red and gray stripes, wing motifs, and Rimor Sailer 748 graphics. A retractable awning that converts to a tent is mounted on the right side over a door that opens into the living area. Further exterior features include a tubular front bash-bar, rear-mounted rack for two bikes, and rear tow ball along with skylights and equipment storage compartments.

The 15" steel wheels wear Continental tires. The vehicle rides on an independent front suspension with a transverse-leaf sprung solid rear axle and air bags.

The front seats are upholstered in multi-colored patterned cloth. The driver’s seat features independent height, tilt, and recline while a reading light and cupholder are mounted to the passenger-side of the dashboard. A Kenwood head unit has been installed, and patterned curtains separate the forward cabin from the living quarters behind.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO gauges including a 200-kph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary readouts. The digital odometer indicates 92k kilometers (~57k miles), of which approximately 3k kilometers (~2k miles) have been added by the seller.

The living quarters feature a dining area that converts into a secondary bed and incorporates a wooden table and gray cloth bench seats with seat belts. Matching patterned-cloth decorates the headboards and other surfaces. White curtains cover the windows, and a ceiling fan with openable skylight provides ventilation.

A fixed queen-size bed and bathroom stall make up the rear of the living quarters. The bedroom is divided by matching curtains and lit by an openable skylight, with wooden cabinets located above and below. The bathroom stall features mint green surfaces with a cassette toilet, standing shower, corner sink, and storage compartments. Storage compartments include a wooden nine-drawer dresser as well as wooden ceiling-height cabinets.

The kitchenette consists of a three-burner stove, a fold down counter, sink, and an Electrolux refrigerator and freezer. A fire extinguisher is stored above the sink. Two separate Truma and Telair air-conditioning units provide independent cooling of the living area, and auxiliary power is provided by a solar system and Yamaha gas generator.

The 2.9-liter OM 602 turbo diesel inline-five was factory rated at 120 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
