1975 31’ Airstream Sovereign (Rear Bath). Beautiful & Rare Apartment On Wheels.
What you see is a beautiful “mod” 1975 Airstream with lots of character that provide the right buyer with years of comfort and travel enjoyment. It’s equipped with a comfortable salon with a pull out couch that has been resurfaced with a sturdy but supple cream leather to compliment the interior walls. Couch can pull out to sleep two comfortably.
Dining/work table can fold out as a desk for two or up to four. Will include two 70s style mod orange stools that slide under the table when not in use,
Table can fold flush under the credenza when not in use or when pulling out the bed. Vintage style tamboor cabinets throughout unit procides a handsome facia for the many above and below storage compartments for all your supplies, dishes and appliances extra blankets through the rig.
Galley is equipped with an extra large pantry that can rival many studio apartment kitchens. Working fridge with facia that blends with pantry cabinet is paired with ice cold freezer. Four burner stove has stainless steel cover that provides extra prep space or can be used as a standing desk surface. Adjacent fold down leaf can provide extra prep space that’s flush with counter surface when needed. Old school large oven (never used). Sink covers.
Power furnace with thermostat for chilly nights.
Mid-ship bedroom features an upgrade to the original standard twin beds. I had those removed and installed custom foam cushions with matching backs. That can seat three in each side for a nice lounge effect and second space separate fromthe salon. There are 8 steel slats stored in the hidden bunk under the beds that can be used to form a base and when you lay the backs down on it, it becomes a nice large California King. There’s a room divider that you can use to close offf the bedroom.
The rear bath is large and has heat ducts for the furnace forced air.
Two large closets are in the bathroom. Has a tub and large vanity for with storage. Sliding bathroom door has large full length mirror. Rear window is tinted for day time privacy while allowed light to put in.
Rig has two roof solar panels to store energy to charge OEM ceiling lights.
Will throw in Champion generator (3500 running watts) that’s more than enough to power AC and other appliances using the 110 outlets. There is no inverter.
Th Elise goes on. It’s a very comfortable rig that I’ve owned for two years. It’s just too large for me to travel with. I lived in it full time for the entire two years. Drove it from NYC to Chicago with no issues. Tows great! Will also throw in Altor heavy duty trailer tongue lock with all the keys.
Issues: I have never had plumbing. Not sure why but I never had enough funds to get it inspected to see what the problem is. Somebody who knows what they’re doing might reveal jts an easy fix
Next, it needs three of the stabilizers replaced. They were old and worn so I just removed them. I boondocked fine without them.
Also, the underside aluminum cover near the front by the door is sagging and needs to be re-riveted. Just happened over time, but it can be towed fine with it as-is.
All minor issues considering the upsides. If you’ve been wanting to grab one of these legends, act now!
