2006 Roadtrek RS ADVENTUROUS Mercedes CamperVan class-B UNUSUAL
My wife of 60yrs and I have always been VW-"Vanagon"-People. We loved to explore and travel the SW. When we retired, we wanted something slightly bigger but still allowed easy access to parking spaces at Trader Joe's. We did our research "for the better part of a year. The clear winner was a Road Trek "Adventurous" and I'll tell you why:1. In 2006 Mercedes still had the famous 5 cylinder Turbo Diesel favored by Taxi Drivers in Europe as "Bullet Proof" as exclaimed by our driver: "mine has almost 500,000 miles and it runs like a top". It also wasn't required to run on the dreaded DEFT as required by California Smog Regulations.2. Even though it was 22" long, (good enough for Trader Joe parking spaces), it got 22- 23 MPG.3. It has an On Board Generator that supplies all the power you need to run AC in the Mojove Desert in addtion to the TV and Stereo4. Personally, in looking at hundreds of RV's they still all look about the same. The "Adventurous" line was still so beautiful that it didn't require a "Mothers Love" and would last many a mile.We bought it in 2016 (with only 50,000) and today, 2025 it still only has 81,000 miles. We have absolutely loved it and given it much TLC and maintenance. In fact, it has just had its 80,000 miles maintence as recomended by Mercedes ( All belts replaced, Transmission oil changed, Brake lines flushed, etc. It is ready for a 5,000 mile jaunt of fun and comfort.UPGRADES:1. 2250W Inverter. The original only came with a 750W inverter which wouldn't run the Micro Wave while we were Boondooking. Important, because my wife wouldn't use the Propane Burner for fear of spreading cooking oil all over the kitchen.2 All new batteries in the Engine and Cargo area's3. New clear lens headlights for night time driving4.Back up Camera to facilitate parking at night5.Smart TV + Sound Bar for watching NET FLICKS+ DVD player6 Upgraded Radio with Power Amp to run out door Speakers7 I have to say, that the most important thing I should say about this RV is that it has an extrensive Library how everything works, how to fix things if you are broken down in Alsaka or Mohave. Where the best campsites are and exactly how to find them. Very exceptionalMy Mechanic has just completed it's 80,000 complete Mantenance Run Through as advised by Mercedes (,New fluid change in transmission, Eng, all new Belts, and filters)IMPERFECTIONSI. The "Pin stripping" on the sides needs professional restoration, (not available in my small town) - See left and right side pictures2. There was some sort of sight damage on passenger rear panel. There when I got it. seems ok all this time3. The dash switch controlling the fan, only works on high. Needs a new one. I always used it on high anyway.4. The dash switch controlling the Power Amplifier, needs another one. I just wired the two wires together when I needed Please Please ask for questions and corroborating pictures and I will do my VERY BEST to comply. I prefer that it be seen in person and picked up locally here in Pinos Altos. I will help to arrange shipping, but that way is entirely your cost. I have an EBay Rating of 100% over 25+year. This personal Roadtrek comes "AS IS- WHere AS" with no Warrantee's what so ever. How Can I? The Solution is to ask, ask, ask. There is $400 non refundable fee due with in 4 days before I consider it sold, and the remaining balance due within 2 weeks, unless both parties agree in writing on another date to allow for personal inspection to occur. To avoid "scams", If you have more than one negative feedback, do not bid unless you message me first and explain. This is truly a GREAT Vanagon. Good Luck!
