Description:

2018 Oliver Travel Trailer, Legacy Elite I, FOR SALE, $54,900 (or best offer)

Our brand new custom-ordered Hull #309 was picked up on March 6, 2018. Please read over the attached documents and view the photographs before contacting us. Questions asked without first reading the information provided will likely not be answered. Always assume the trailer is available for purchase unless we have marked it as sold, which we will do so immediately upon payment. Arrangements can be made to view the trailer, but note that it is usually covered and protected from the sun and only serious inquiries will be considered. You can private message me, and if your offer is reasonable I will provide additional contact information.

PDF’s of the original purchase order and bill of sale are attached. After taxes we had initially invested just short of $60,000 in this new trailer. Please peruse the upgrades and interior colors and materials chosen in our purchase order. This trailer was custom ordered specifically for boondocking. We found we could easily stay four to seven days out without full hookups. We learned soon enough that having a portable Zamp solar panel would also extend the time we could spend boondocking. The system, as designed, works fine and we never ran out of water or power. A new and similar outfitted Oliver trailer today would likely run anywhere from $85,000 to nearly $100,000. Back in 2018 only 20% of new-build trailers were this smaller-sized Legacy Elite. Based on other listings today the number is probably even less.

Oliver’s warranty guarantee is excellent and their service is very good. Though used trailers are not warranted by Oliver once a transfer has been completed every new owner immediately becomes a member of the Oliver family. It is my understanding that Oliver has never NOT taken care of a problem that was due to faulty construction on their part. The other components in the trailer are supplied by other vendors and their warranties only are good for one or two years anyway. After the break-in period there isn’t much that can go wrong with the Oliver hull or frame. Our yearly maintenance and needed warranty work was initially performed by Oliver at their factory in Hohenwald, Tennessee every March, that is until Covid 19 hit in early 2020. I then began each March to change out the wheel bearings myself, check everything over, re-caulk the windows, and make sure everything is operating as it should.

  • Since purchasing the trailer we have accumulated replacement parts and equipment to maintain it optimally. Early on the bathroom faucet quit working and the gizmo-like filter was replaced. Oliver also sent me a new faucet in case we continued to have problems. We have not.

  • The water pump also had a problem and Oliver sent me a brand new pump which was installed and no new problems have since occurred. I also bought another new pump for future replacement as boat owners assured me I would be replacing the pump again later down the road.

  • Early on, during one of our wash and wax jobs on the trailer, my wife discovered a small crack in the fiberglass bottom near the wheel on the door side. Under warranty Oliver removed the refrigerator, reinforced the area and made the trailer like new again. It was never discovered how or why the crack occurred but there has never been another issue with it.

  • We also replaced all the white weatherseal around the windows with an attractive black seal which is still in great condition.

  • Oliver also replaced one of the defective privacy blinds early on under warranty.

  • The clothes rod in the big closet was repositioned by Oliver to better suit my wife’s needs.

  • The MaxxAir fan went on the blink early on and Oliver corrected the known electrical circuit issue under warranty. That repair did not last so I decided on buying and installing a brand new MaxxAir fan with a manually-controlled lift instead of the automatic one installed by Oliver. No problems since and we prefer the manual lift to the auto lift anyway. The fan could be replaced again as it is difficult to completely clean, but it still works fine.

  • The composting toilet also works great and could be easily replaced with a conventional toilet (the original plumbing and hookups remain installed and waiting) that is if the new owner prefers going that way, or if a previously soiled but clean and disinfected composting toilet might turn you off. Important to note that the black water tank is crystal clean and has never been used.

  • The Zamp solar controller was also replaced under warranty. We also purchased a portable 90-watt Zamp solar panel which is still brand new except for making sure it worked when we first received it.

  • The foam gaskets for the bathroom air vent have also been replaced, plus a new backup air vent was purchased as well. Two brand new identical outside porch lights were purchased from Oliver last year in case they ever need replacing.

  • For 2025 we bought a new memory foam 3” mattress for the full-size bed. The extra cushions, pedestal, and table top are kept in storage.

  • Our trailer has a brand new protective cover and is parked in our backyard in Gainesville, FL in order for me to keep an eye on it and to also make a quick exit in case of a hurricane or other disaster.

  • Due to a manufacturing wiring glitch I replaced the Progressive Dynamics Transfer Switch in late August of 2022. No problem since.

  • Two brand new AGM Bright Way Group BW EV GC6 6-volt 220Ah sealed lead-acid batteries were installed in September 2022.

  • Two new identical tires to the original Coopers were replaced in early 2023. Note that every five years the tires should be replaced.

  • Replaced the 12V Atwood 36681 Carbon Monoxide & LP Gas Propane Detector with a brand new one in 2023.

  • A new smart TV was purchased in Spring of 2024. The original DVD player was not connected to this new TV but I suppose a person with more knowledge and experience could take care of that issue if so desired.

  • The stationary sash on the rear curbside window has a smoky look to it. Nothing wrong with it except a possible seal failure that often happens to insulated windows.

  • A small hole in awning fabric was tape-repaired both top and bottom and remains in good working order. No leaks.

  • Stabilizers were never needed as this sized Oliver tows wonderfully. With our 2020 Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi V-8 it is like towing air. Hard to figure out the total mileage we’ve traveled so far but we’ve taken trips every summer since 2018 amounting anywhere from 10-13 weeks. The supplied pictorial map shows the states we’ve been to. I would say the trailer has been lightly traveled as we tend to stay in places we like for longer periods.

When first shopping for the trailer we understood Oliver trailers kept their resale value, oftentimes selling for more than what they initially cost to purchase. We want this sale to be a win-win for both parties. 2018 was a very good year for Oliver trailers as poor design issues from 2017 and before were addressed and some upgrade options were made standard. The extra equipment listed above will generally be included in our sales price except for the unused and brand new portable Zamp solar panel we paid $500 for. I also have tools purchased for maintenance that can be negotiated in the final sales price, if interested. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and/or shipping. There is a possibility I could deliver the trailer in continental USA if needed, provided the plan is reasonable and our expenses are covered.
