Price: US $69,000.00 Item location: Alamogordo, New Mexico, United States
Description:

Extremely rare, 1951 “alien-eye” Silver Streak Clipper 22 ft travel trailer, modernized for luxury and safety and optimized for off-grid adventures. This antique trailer is the direct descendant of the Curtis Wright Clipper designed by Airstream founder Wally Byum. At 74 years old, she is a gem among vintage trailers for her airplane-style construction and her Art Deco styling. She has undergone a full, down-to-the-studs restoration and renovation, pairing a cool retro aesthetic with modern luxury amenities.

Model 7 S/N 2196, single axle. Gross Trailer Weight (dry) is 3800 lbs. Roof clearance is 8'-6". Width is 7'-6". This trailer is cozy and compact, and easily towed by most SUVs or mid-sized trucks. Curt Tru-track weight distribution system included; ensures solid, level towing performance.

Everything on this trailer has been repaired, replaced, or refurbished: rebuilt and reinforced chassis, new torsion axle/wheels/hitch, and all-new electrical, plumbing, holding tanks (fresh-33, gray-21, black-14), propane system, insulation, appliances and modern safety features (including rearview camera). Her exterior shell has been sealed and professionally painted silver for a vintage look without the maintenance of a polished trailer. Full interior renovation adding wet bath, outdoor shower, custom furniture, inboard AC/heat pump, new cushions and upholstery---but keeping original details (sconces, gas lantern, aluminum galley and upper cabinets, hardware, etc.) that make this vintage so cool. This trailer has a very versatile floor plan. She sleeps four in comfort in multiple configurations and has a propane fireplace, a 12-volt drawer refrigerator, full galley and range, on-demand water heater, water purification system, new vintage-style awning, solar power on the roof, a modern 270 a-hr Lithium-ion battery, built-in media center with movie projector---and much more. All these improvements and upgrades have been road-tested over 7,500 miles. Selling now to fund our next two projects: a 1947 Airstream Liner and a 1954 Silver Streak Clipper.
