The 1997 Monaco Dynasty is a coach from a time when Monaco built with craftsmanship and a focus on long-term ownership rather than short-term trends. When new, this Dynasty carried an original MSRP north of $200,000, and it shows in every aspect of its design.
At the heart of this 40-foot Class A motorhome is the highly respected Cummins 6C 8.3-liter turbo diesel, delivering 325 horsepower and a formidable 915 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the Allison MD3060 six-speed automatic transmission, the drivetrain provides confident highway cruising, strong hill-climbing performance, and reliability. Beneath it all is Monacos legendary Roadmaster chassis, complete with full air suspension and air brakes, resulting in a ride that is smooth, composed, and reassuringly stable.
Inside, the Dynasty welcomes you with a spacious, well-thought-out interior that feels solid and comfortable. A large living-room slide-out opens the space beautifully, creating an inviting environment for extended travel or full-time living. Dual 13,500 BTU roof air conditioners with heat strips work in tandem with a dedicated furnace to keep the coach comfortable in a wide range of climates, while the Onan 7.5 kW Quiet Diesel generator ensures dependable power wherever the road takes you.
The interior reflects classic Monaco luxury, with rich solid-wood cabinetry throughout.The kitchen is well equipped with a Norcold refrigerator and freezer, convection microwave, and a large stand-alone ice makerfeatures that make longer stays both convenient and enjoyable. A washer/dryer combo adds to the coachs self-sufficiency, and the gas/electric water heater supports comfortable daily living. Power driver and passenger seats and a backup camera enhance ease of travel and maneuvering, while the sleeping arrangements comfortably accommodate up to four people. Beneath it all, the Dynasty offers tremendous basement storage, making it easy to carry everything needed for extended adventures.
This coach runs and drives very well and benefits from a fiberglass roof, along with an impressive collection of owner manuals and maintenance records that speak to careful stewardship over the years. All four tires are new, with two currently mounted and two ready to be installed. As with many well-priced coaches of this vintage, there are a few items to note: two of the new tires still need mounting, the house and chassis batteries will need replacement, and the dash A/C motor requires repair.
