Coachmen Freelander 21, 2014
24 Ft Coachmen Freelander. Moderately used, average condition. It's been a lot of fun and well loved, but I'm getting too old to maintain it properly, especially with the latest problems. Many accessories included; sewer, water hoses & fittings, electrical cords, some repair materials, curtains, mattress, overhead mattress, range cover, new batteries in May 2026 - engine and one house. Built in features include 3 burner stove top, microwave, inverter, toilet, shower, refrigerator/freezer, heater, air conditioner. Seat belts for passengers at dining table. Heavy duty trailer hitch with electrical connection.
The CarFax report reads great, but somehow they don't have all the service records. I can share the CarFax PDF if you request it. The MH comes with a box of documents - Manuals & service records. 6 new tires. 2 new batteries. The pictures show the date on the batteries and the pictures show that each battery has a solar trickle charger keeping them healthy. I have pictures for the tires, but I could only post 40 pictures in the ad, so if you need 4 tire pictures, I'll have to email those.
The problems: The ceiling has a leak on the front edge, which has been repaired (maybe not well enough, see photos). The transmission is failing. The transmission filter and fluid was changed within the last 30 miles, but there is still metal debris in the fluid. The motorhome can be driven up to 30 MPH for short distances (5 - 30 miles?). It's been up to 70 MPH since the repair work, but then the transmission starts misbehaving. The engine is great. It's been stored outside California's central valley for it's lifetime. The sun and the heat have aged it. The exterior paint is faded and there are some blemishes (see photos). The interior wall paper is peeling in places, the table top peeled. Roof vents have been replaced but are aging again. Bathroom skylight is leaky. The genset is no longer starting, but it tries to start. I really think it just needs a tune up. The genset runs off of the chassis gas tank. Ask questions and we will try to answer.
In sum ... it was well loved and being used extensively up until July when the trani decided it had had enough. We did have an excellent professional truck stop in Rock Springs clean the trani filter and flush it. Then we tried to drive to Colorado, from Rock Springs WY, but it cannot sustain highway speeds. We climbed the hill to the East on I 80 and it was not happy. We took the exit that's about 11 miles out of town to the East. We let it cool down for an hour, then we turned back on the loop road in the hills South of 80 and drove it back at about 30 mph and now it's stored in Rock Springs.
Showing it is a challenge, so ask questions. We will meet you in Rock Springs if you win the auction. I am listing this for my girlfriend. I have the Ebay account with a clean/buying selling record but it's her Motor Home and she has the clean title in her name. I personally have bought 3 boats on EBay and sold 2 of them on EBay, so I do understand the challenges of remote purchasing.
