1962 Avion 20ft Trailer – Road Ready NEW Tires - Nice Project - Like Airstream!

Up for auction is a 1962 Avion, a 20-foot travel trailer (VIN 2572 per Michigan Certificate of Title). I believe the plate reads H-24. This trailer has a straight outer shell making it an excellent candidate for a dedicated vintage restoration project. Clean Michigan title in hand with no liens, ready for easy transfer.
Exterior Condition:
The aircraft-grade, riveted double-shell aluminum body is complete and very straight for its age.
Panels & Structure: The driver-side, curb-side, front, and rear panels show great structural integrity with no major collision tears or heavy side-swipe damage. Expect minor, small quarter-sized indents and a natural weathered patina from normal outdoor exposure.
Windows: All original glass jalousie windows are present and functional; one set of windows in back has the edges missing, they are taped and wired to hold them. The original rubber seals and cranks are weathered.
Polishing: This is a pre-1963 Avion model; the outer skin is raw aluminum rather than anodized satin. It can be polished out to a mirror-like chrome finish. The aerodynamic design offers the classic "silver bullet" look frequently compared to an Airstream, though this is an Avion.
Interior Condition (Intact Layout / Needs Cosmetic Work):
The interior retains its cabinetry layout, woodwork, overhead lockers, sink, stove, and closet doors.
Layout Change: All the original bathroom toilet/shower fixtures were removed by a previous owner to create an open sitting/sleeping nook at the rear. There are currently no bathroom elements remaining.
Cosmetics & Paint: The interior was painted white at some point without a primer. Consequently, the paint is actively flaking and peeling in multiple spots.
Aesthetics & Subfloor: Has pink glass cabinet hardware and vintage fixtures throughout. The front dinette features a table, solid benches, and replacement fabric covers on the cushions. The subfloor feels generally solid underfoot, though it has not been uncovered or inspected beneath the linoleum.
Appliances & Systems (Sold As-Is)
Kitchen & Electrical: Features a Holiday stovetop/oven (this was painted green - it is now green and tge original tanish orange. It has not been tested. There is an added compact refrigerator. Fridge is untested. An external standard outlet box was modified onto the rear at some point. When plugged into a household extension cord, some interior lights successfully turn on. We did not test every outlet or light fixture.
Propane & Plumbing: The original LP tanks are missing; gas connectors are old and worn. The aluminum underbelly pan looks intact and enclosed to me. I think what is the wastewater valve is present underneath. See photos.
Tires, Towing, & ; Transport Safety:
The trailer has two brand new tires installed 10-6-2026. They feature classic old worn Ford hubcaps.
Safety: We tested and note the following:
Left blinker WORKS
right blinker WORKS
brake lights WORK
NO running lights.
Single axle - two tires total on the trailer
Includes spare tire which cracked and not safe to drive on. Spare is a P35/75R15
Trailer ball size 2 5/16
Unable to test brakes.
