1987 Airstream 345 Motorhome Classic Vintage Aluminum Coach Bus Class A RV 34.5'
If you’ve been looking for a true head-turning vintage Airstream motorhome, this is it. The 1987 Airstream 345 is part of the iconic lineup known for its aircraft-style aluminum construction, timeless design, and solid road presence. These rigs are getting harder to find in complete, running condition.
This coach is great whether you want to hit the road as-is, do a light refresh, or go all-in on a high-end renovation project. You can park it at the campground and be one of a kind or go to Burning Man with it. I bought it 5 years ago and wanted to make some renovations in mid-century modern style, but never had a time. Hope someone could have a good use for it.
The interior is mostly original — you can keep it or update if you prefer. I noticed only modern ceiling lamps, microwave and updated (pvc) plumbing. There is a fridge (can run on propane or electricity), 4-burner stove, double sink in the kitchen area. The bedroom is in the back with plenty of storage cabinets. Couch can be transformed into another bed and also I think dinette area can be transformed into a sleeping place. There is also a small foldable table with armchair. The shower and toilet are separated.
⚡I don't have RV hook-ups on the parking lot, so haven't checked all systems. Generator was starting a year ago (wasn't been able to do it now, likely because of the low fuel level). When it runs the electricity inside is working and a water is running from kitchen faucet/shower. The roof A/C is also working (at least 1, don't remember about 2nd). I don't know anything else about holding tanks/heater/propane/etc.
Exterior was mostly good, but unfortunately I hit a fence on the lot and dented right rear corner + broke the window. There is also a hump on the rear left wheel-well, but it should be fixable for anyone who works with aluminum. The body currently has a nice patina, but you can polish it to a mirror-like finish if you like this style more.
Mechanically it runs & drives. There is 454 cu in (7.4L) Chevy engine, so parts are widely available. It has an updated electric radiator fan with thermo-probe. Engine A/C is not working (probably to save power). Rear-view camera works. Seats & mirrors are electrically-adjusted.Tires are good. Air suspension works and holds pressure. Leveling jacks operate normally. Does have a hitch with brake-controller.⚠️ Please NoteThis is a 1987 vehicle — it is not new.
I recently drove it from CA to AZ and back without any issues. But you might want to do some regular maintenance (oil/fluids) before longer trip.
