1963 Overlander Twin Airstream Travel Trailer
Near complete renovation with some of the original charm and unique designer touches! I originally purchased this Airstream in 2011 and am only the second owner. This trailer has had minimal use and a lot of love put into it. Unfortunately, I don’t have the opportunity to use it, I’m losing my complimentary storage and Sterling Penny deserves adventure or a good home where she can be appreciated!
I had a lot of system updates and minor exterior/shell repair work done in 2017-2018 by Vintage Campers in Peru, IN. Since, it has hardly been used. I did the cosmetic interior design renovation throughout the years. See below for highlights.
I had a safety check done in May of 2024 and all systems & structure checked out. It has remained winterized and been stored in temperature controlled indoor environment since.

I have used it so very little, but here are some of her 1963 nuances I’m aware of:
The stove top/oven and refrigerator are original. The stove is a little finicky and needs lit with a lighter. The left back burner can’t be fixed but the rest work.
I have not used the refrigerator since purchase, but it was working then.
The original rock guard is still intact with new arm mechanisms so in good working condition.
Original awning was in poor condition. I had it and the broken hardware removed and all holes patched.
There is a dent that was there when I bought it on the upper area above the middle window. See photos.
One of the storage compartments sticks a bit, but will open with some effort.
The door is tricky, but lock works, it’s properly sealed & the screen is in good condition.
Needs new trim around the flooring & millwork. I tried flexible self-adhesive and it didn’t stay put.
The old light fixture wiring is still at the bathroom and kitchen under the upper cabinets, so you could install new fixtures in each location or remove the wiring.
It was parked outside for a number of years and I never had a critter or bug problem.
Cosmetic Improvements Include:
New LVT flooring, there are some areas in the closet that are not installed properly and a couple loose boards.
Original tub was refinished.
All surfaces, cleaned, sealed, primed with mold killing primer and painted.
New wood countertops. Kitchen countertop has a pop up for extra workspace.
New window treatments.
New decorative hardware at millwork.
I left some of the original charm including the light fixtures with a little updated detail.
New Mattresses. They are slightly too large, but they offer some support when you want to use as sofas and can rest over the edge a bit when you want them flat. See photos.
New gaucho sofa cushions in durable vinyl.
Original kitchen sink, new faucet.
New bathroom sink and faucet.
New toilet (never used).
Original Medicine cabinet…it’s cool.
Original adjustable mirror at the bathroom.
Existing track remains for new shower curtain.
All cover plates replaced.
Some of the decorative items & bedding can be included if wanted and there are some supplies, dishes, kitchen utensils, outdoor chairs, wood plank walk-way etc if desired. Tequilia, faux fur throw & decorative dear head pillows not included.
